Christ, First Begotten or Firstborn

The title "Firstborn" or "First Begotten" is used five times of the Lord Jesus Christ.  It is a special title which denotes priority, position, rank, dignity and honour.  It does not necessarily refer to a beginning by birth but refers always to a manifestation.

1. The Creator of the universe. (Col. 1:15)
2. The Crown of humanity. (Heb 1:6)
3. The Captain of the redeemed. (Rom. 8:29)
4. The Chiefest in the church. (Col. 1:18)
5. The Conqueror of death. (Rev. 1:5)
